Make It Specific

Make the Award Specific to the Achievement

The strongest employee award says what the person actually did.

“Great job” is positive, but it doesn’t preserve much of the story. A useful engraving can name the recipient, identify the accomplishment and record when it happened.

An employee award can include:

Employee name
Award title
Specific achievement
Company name
Company logo
Years of service
Service dates
Department
Recognition date
Company value
Appreciation message
For Example
Innovation Award Marcus Lee
For Redesigning Our Customer Onboarding Process
2026

That tells Marcus exactly what he’s being recognized for and records the achievement for anyone who sees the award later.

Corporate Branding

Add Your Company Logo

If the award represents your organization as well as the employee’s achievement, adding the company logo can make the piece feel like an official part of your recognition program.

EngravingShop offers corporate logo, organization crest and custom image engraving on eligible awards, gifts and promotional items purchased through the store.

The current one-time logo or image conversion fee is $35 when the artwork meets the stated requirements. Complex artwork may require additional preparation. Engraving cost can also vary with the quantity and the work required.

High-quality black-and-white line art is recommended. Current listed file formats include BMP, PNG, JPG and EPS. You must have the rights to use the artwork you submit.

See more recognition occasions
Customer Service Awards Recognize exceptional customer care, responsiveness, service quality or client relationships.
Innovation Awards Give credit for a useful idea, process improvement, creative solution or operational change.
Team & Collaboration Awards Recognize teams that completed an important project or reached a shared goal.
Company Values Awards Connect recognition to values such as integrity, service, innovation, leadership or teamwork.
Growth & Development Awards Recognize professional development, certifications, mentoring or advancement.
Spot Recognition A smaller engraved desk gift can recognize an accomplishment soon after it happens.

Years of Service Awards

Service awards work best when the milestone is easy to understand. Five years, ten years, fifteen years, twenty years and twenty-five or more years each represent a meaningful point in an employee’s time with an organization.

Choose a piece that feels appropriate for the size of the milestone, then make the engraving personal. Include the employee’s name and years of service first. Company name, logo, service dates and a brief message can be added when the available engraving area allows.

Example:
20 Years of Service
Presented to Robert Martinez
With Appreciation for Your Commitment
2006-2026

The Value of Recognition

Why Employee Recognition Matters

Recognition is more than a ceremony. Gallup and Workhuman research tracking nearly 3,500 employees found that well-recognized employees were 45% less likely to have changed organizations two years later. Gallup also describes effective recognition as honest, authentic and individualized to the employee.

That makes specificity useful. A physical award can identify the person, the achievement and the reason the organization valued it instead of giving every recipient the same generic message. Recognition can also reinforce company culture by showing which achievements and behaviors the organization values.
